Deputy Colonels with responsibility towards Battalions as directed by the Colonel of the Regiment. Deputy Colonels from this date were:

Major General M J D Walker CBE 1992-1996

(1St 5th and 6th Battalions and thus associated with the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex).

Brigadier C Groves 1991-1996

(2nd and 7th Battalions and thus associated with the counties of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire).

e. Rationalisation . On 30 Mar 96, the 5th Battalion was re-rolled as

158 (Royal Anglian) Regiment, Royal Logistic Corps(Volunteer); rationalisation
dictated that from 1 Jan 96, the 1St and 6th Battalions with Lieutenant General Sir Michael Walker as their Deputy Colonel, were associated with the counties of Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex while the 2nd and 7th Battalions with
